Position: Chief Operating Officer 
Reports To: CEO
Supervises: Multiple Staff and Contractors

Mission Statement
Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) supports survivors of rape and sexual abuse; promotes healing and prevention; and advocates for social change.  

The Opportunity 
With a leadership team at the top of its game and an aggressive growth plan in place, this is an exciting and pivotal time to join Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. The successful candidate will be a strategic, operationally focused partner to the CEO and the Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer will provide critical leadership  of all  facilities, 24/7 hotline, quality assurance, IT and infrastructure, and client support services. 
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for a nonprofit leader who thinks BIG PICTURE and yet still likes to roll up her/his/their sleeves to "get stuff done." This is a highly collaborative position in which the COO will work with and through people to accomplish BIG THINGS and BIG PROJECTS in a highly matrixed environment.  

CRCC offers the unique opportunity for a hybrid work environment. Employees are allowed to split their time to work from home, in addition to working at any of their six locations, across four counties. 

Position Summary 
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead  operational management of the organization and implement strategies that improve how our clients access Agency services.  The COO will serve as a key figure in developing and implementing adequate yet scalable infrastructure for the organization. This individual will need to be flexible, efficient, and excel at communications and large-scale project management. The COO will have various direct reports including the Hotline Operations team, Client Services/Reception/Office Management , and Quality Assurance.
 
The COO will have a broad portfolio of operational responsibilities designed to improve client access through system infrastructure, contracting, facility planning, and systems management.  This individual will work with staff to improve the points-of-access for how our clients access CRCC services - whether it is through the CRCC Hotline, one of our service centers, or through technology.  Our ideal candidate should be energized by large scale and impactful process improvements, obtaining the resources to accomplish the projects, and ensuring that projects are seen to completion.  If this sounds intriguing, please keep reading to learn some of the key responsibilities of our future COO.  
 
Executive Leadership
  • Work closely with Executive Team to ensure all operational matters in her/his/their purview are accomplished 
  • Develop tools and systems that provide critical operational information to the CEO, leadership team, Board, and other stakeholders 
  • Advise Leadership Team on issues, trends, and changes in the operating model(s) and operational delivery to improve client access to services
  • Oversee service contracts and operational plans for Agency 
Hotline Operations
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise the Director of Access to Care, including setting operational goals and evaluating performance 
  • Work with the Hotline Operations team to improve access to care and hotline operations 
  • Oversee scheduling, telephone systems, hotline operations metrics, etc.   
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and excellence
Client Services/Reception/Office Management
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise the Client Services Manager, including setting goals and evaluating performance
  • Inspire and lead the team for continuing education, service coordination, and client care standards 
  • Understand, organize, maintain, and fulfill all operational aspects of the facilities (facility maintenance, facility safety and security, client services, care coordination, etc.) 
Quality Assurance
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise the Quality Assurance Manager, including setting goals and evaluating performance
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO on all Quality Assurance functions, relating to operational and agency operations (i.e., telephone systems, security systems, facility operations, etc.)
  • Oversee technology initiatives (computers, network, telephone systems, security systems, etc.) to ensure that clients and staff have ease-of-access to CRCC services. 
  • Identify technology and infrastructure improvements needed to improve CRCC operations.  
  • Ensure all required compliance and ethics training is provided to CRCC staff as required
  • Contract with appropriate technology consultants to implement needed changes. 
Facilities Management
  • Coordinate the procurement and maintenance of IT, facilities, and other equipment needs for multiple facilities, etc. to meet the agency’s evolving needs in accordance with budgets (i.e., computers, software, facilities maintenance, snow plowing, security, etc.)
  • Ensure proper contracting with multiple vendors for a variety of Agency needs (facilities, IT, etc.)  
  • Approve work orders and maintenance requests for all CRCC facilities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Healthcare Administration, Nonprofit Management or other related field preferred or equivalent; Master's Degree preferred.  
  • 8-10 years of broad nonprofit management experience in a relevant organization required (healthcare, behavioral health, mental health, or social services experience).  This would include management/leadership experience with a relevant nonprofit organization with a minimum of 50 employees and a $2 million operating budget, including organizational management, operations reporting, and organization-wide systems improvement.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a mental health or behavioral health environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence and experience in social services, mental health, or behavioral health-oriented operations management strongly preferred
Compensation and Benefits 
The successful candidate will be offered an attractive compensation package including salary, 403(b) contributions and match, medical, dental and vision, generous paid time off including 4 weeks’ vacation, 12 sick days, 10 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, and 4 self-care days.
