AbilityPath and Via West are hiring Summer Camp Support Staff-Housekeeping and Kitchen Assistants for our camp for children and adults with disabilities!
The Housekeeping Assistant provides laundry, housekeeping, sanitation and light janitorial support to camp.
The Kitchen Assistant prepares and serves meals, prepares and clean the dining hall, washes dishes, and provides other kitchen and dining support.
ABOUT US:
Camp Via West is a San Andreas Regional Center (SARC) approved provider of respite care for children and adults with disabilities (autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and others.) Weekend respite offers innovative programs and meaningful camp experiences to support Individual Service Plans (ISPs), increase independent living skills and encourage physical and social/emotional engagement.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Summer commitment is June 5th - August 18th, 2023
Summer stipend is $5,000; apply by 2/13/23 and if hired, you will receive an early sign-on bonus of $250
Early Application Bonus: Apply by 1/31/23 and if hired, you will receive a $100 in your first paycheck.
Job Duties:
Housekeeping:
- Laundry, housekeeping, sanitation, and light janitorial support to camp.
Kitchen:
- Assist in gathering appropriate ingredients, utensils, and equipment for preparing food for meals
- Assist in preparation of meals
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dish room
- Assist in serving meals to groups of 40+
- Assist in keeping kitchen supplies and food organized

Requirements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum experience and qualifications:
• at least 18 years of age*
Other desirable experience and qualifications:
Housekeeping:
• Previous experience working at a residential camp
• Previous experience working in housekeeping, janitorial or facilities maintenance
Kitchen:
- Previous experience working at a residential camp
- Previous experience working in catering or other food service
*A legal requirement to work at camp
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid California Driver’s License/ID
- Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Verification of occupational physical clearance
- Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 18 years of age or job permit clearance
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination + first booster
- Verification of eligibility to work in the US
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
